Competitive (Travel) Baseball

Purpose: The Wolverines competitive team will be open for ages 8u-16u with a focus on allowing our players an option to play at a higher level but also remain within the FishHawk Youth Baseball community.

The main goal is to keep more of our FishHawk players in our park so they can continue to grow on and off the field.

Your FishHawk Youth Baseball Board is very focused on providing opportunities for all players of any talent level. We are a developmental recreational league first but want to offer an option for those players looking for the next level up.

Cost: The upfront costs will vary depending on age. Costs include uniform fees and 4 outside tournaments a season.   Any additional tournament fees would be split amongst the players evenly.

Season:  We will have two seasons annually:

  • SPRING [January to May]
  • FALL [August to December]

Tryouts:  Evaluations will be held at the beginning of each Competitive season. Evaluations are conducted by the Newsome High School Baseball Coaching Staff for age divisions 11u and up. For age divisions 10u and below, a competitive evaluation committee will be created by the FYB Executive Board and will facilitate evaluations.

Team Selection: Selection will be determined by overall evaluation attendance. Our goal is organizing the most competitive teams from ages 8u-16u with one team per age division.

Manager Selection: Each potential candidate will need to apply prior to established deadlines. Candidates will be interviewed by a panel selected by the Executive Board before final approval.
