A Message from our FYB President

Greetings FYB Community,
With the completion of last week's competitive level games we can now put a bow on the Spring 2024 season... and what a season it was! Great weather, crowded fields, entertaining games, no parking, long lines at concessions--we had it all. Fishhawk Youth Baseball is one of the largest baseball programs in Hillsborough County. We have over 600 kids in our recreational/AB program and over 110 kids in our competitive program.
As you are likely aware we raised our fees this year by $25 for each player. With those fees we purchased new scoreboards for our fields and we are currently in the middle of refurbishing our rookies/minors cages. We anticipate they will be ready by the fall. Next year we will do the same to the majors/juniors cages. I do not anticipate raising fees this upcoming fall season.
Recreational Update
This Spring has been one of the few seasons in the past couple of years where the weather did not severely affect our schedule. Our kids got a lot of baseball in, whether it be practices or games. I saw a lot of great coaching and mentoring going on as well as player development from the beginning of the season to the end.

Congratulations to the following Champions of their respective divisions:
  • Rookies 7U: Athletics
  • Rookies 8U: Tigers
  • Minors: Marlins
  • Majors: Yankees
  • Juniors: Twins
Our Seniors team also successfully represented the program this Spring by playing other Seniors teams around the area.

We are now in the middle of our All-Star preparation for District and State tournaments. Good luck to all our teams!

We will be opening registration for our Fall 2024 season in the coming days. Please ensure you sign up early so you are not put on a waitlist! If you would like to manage or coach a team please be sure to apply.

Summer Camp and Clinics registration are open. The FYB summer camps are run by the Newsome High School Baseball coaching staff. **If you are not aware the Newsome High School varsity team is pretty darn good and their coaches are extremely knowledgeable and professional. You can't find this type of instruction at such a great price anywhere else. Go to our website for signup information.

AB Update
AB had another successful season. We had multiple teams compete across all age divisions. Congratulations to our 12U AB squad for taking home the Gold Bracket Championship.

Fall 2024 AB Manager Applications will be opened soon!

Competitive Update
Our competitive teams really shined this Spring season with one team in particular. The Fishhawk Wolverines 8U squad went 37-7 this spring winning 8 total tournaments. That is an awesome achievement. We also had three teams move up from AA to AAA thus enhancing the Wolverines brand. Great job by all!

Our 2024 12U Cooperstown team is gearing up for their trip to New York in July. Make sure you wish them good luck if you see Coach Estep and his squad.

Tryouts for our 2025 Cooperstown team concluded on 20 May. We will be announcing the roster hopefully this Friday.

Fall 2024 Competitive Manager Applications will be opened soon!

Fishhawk Youth Baseball

Fishhawk Youth Baseball was established in 2008 under Cal Ripken/ Babe Ruth organization. Our goal is to produce a safe environment for the communities youth to learn and compete in the game of baseball. We offer a three tier approach to the game:

Recreational Baseball (Rec) - provides a sports outlet for players wishing to learn about the game of baseball, meet new friends and have fun in a less competitive setting

Advanced Baseball (AB) - provides an additional opportunity for those who wish to receive focused instruction, while competing against top level competition within the area’s AB Program.

Competitive Baseball (Travel) - provides a focus on allowing our players an option to play at a higher level but also remain within the FYB baseball community.

The main goal is to keep more of our Fishhawk players in our park so they can continue to grow on and off the field.

Our partnership with Newsome High School is taking shape and has brought even more knowledge of the game to the community.
